I was wondering if there were any Smallville fans who either live in or near the Toronto area, who would be interested in getting together Friday Aug. 3rd or Saturday Aug. 4th?

I will be attending Prophecy 2007 , a Harry Potter convention being held in Toronto, Ontario and I thought it would be nice to also meet up with some Smallville fans.

I will be staying at the Sheraton located at 123 Queen Street West, and while on Thursday I will be getting together with some HP fans, I thought I might as well take the opportunity to meet some SV fans who either live in the area or are attending Prophecy. Yes, while I am all eager to talk about Harry, Draco and Snape, it would be nice to talk to someone about Lex, because dude, it's Lex LUTHOR and he is like this little black dress that always looks good.

I was wondering about the name and I found this on one of the websites

Alpha Scorpii is better known as Antares ("Rival of Mars"). This is one of the four Royal Stars of the ancients, along with Aldebaran, Regulus, and Fomalhaut.

So, it kind of makes sense know that Draco named his son Scorpius.

And I also liked the mythology on Scorpius that I found on another site:

Mythology

Scorpius is the legendary killer of Orion. Orion was a great hunter who bragged about his skills until the gods grew tired of his boasting. The scorpion was sent to punish Orion, who never thought of such a small creature as a threat. Once he was stung, it was too late. Both were placed in the sky although Orion's last wish was that he never be in the sky as the same time as the scorpion. Thus, Scorpius rule the northern hemisphere's summer while Orion rules the winter skies.

Maybe it was Draco's way of saying Voldermort could be defeated and was defeated by something he overlooked.

He called because he is re-reading the books, and he is currently on book 6. The HP version he has are in Spanish.

Anyway, he called to talk about Snape.

And he asked that I just hear his theory, on what he believes will be the HP end. He is currently waiting for me to send him my Deathly Hallows book.

Well...not since University at the start of my master program, because god, they gave us so much required reading but anyway, I'm done.

I will admit to at least for me one of the reasons that I have been resisting a move from lj to another journal company was the fear that a) I would be there all by myself, b) I would someone miss something, like a good fic.

I know that I moved to lj from yahoo groups was mostly due to the fact that some Smallville authors and Due South authors were migrating here. All it took was the top authors moving (I remember following Te, Livia, and Hope) that I then decided to move. First as a lurker and then later when Lauren kindly gave me a lj.

Now, thing is, that I am getting tired of all this ruckus from lj. For the past two years they seem forever shooting themselves in the foot. In fact ever since Brad sold lj to Six whatever we seem to be pushed and picked upon by a company that does not understand its customer base. A customer base that is made up of fandom users.

I really think we should move and I know that all it would take is for one fandom, one community group to make the effort, to say enough is enough and from now all everything will be posted at insane journal or greatest journal for the rest of the fandom to follow.

I hope we pick insane journal as our new place of operations.

Storywise, after this weekend, I'll save my stories and upload them at my website.

Now, back to hiding and avoiding lj.

Precaution in case I move from lj to insane journal.

My parents should not be allowed to call me when I am cooking.

If I poison myself and die, I am so coming back as a ghost and haunt my parents.

My father is currently re-reading the Harry Potter series, in preparation for both the movie and book that are coming out this month.

My mother has already given me her complaint. "He's reading it again." This is followed by a deep sigh, the kind I have learned to interpret as 'this is all your fault, no more cookies for you.'

Anyway, today we were talking on the phone and my dad interrupted to say, "The movie came out today."

Pause.

Me: "Yeah."

Pause.

Me: "Why don't you go see it with mom?"

Dad: whine and sounding like a two year old whose fun is being completely spoilt. "Your mom doesn't want to go see it with me. She says she doesn't like fantasy." This last bit is said in such a way that I completely interpret to mean, 'she's crazy, see what I have to put with.'

Me: "Mom, stop being mean, go see the movie with dad."

Mom: "I'm not missing my futbol."

Currently there is this Copa America Futbol (soccer) champion thing going on.

Me: Hmmm

Dad: "See."

Me: "Well..."

Dad: "When are you coming home?"

Me: "Um...don't know."

Dad: "We can go see the movie next time you're home."

Me: "Oh, sure, but that might be like in August."

Dad: "No one loves me."

See, this is why I am weird. It's in my genes.

Oh, yeah, and the reason my parents called was to tell me to watch CNN because the Harry Potter kid was going to be in it.

I went to see the doctor today. Got medication for this nasty dry cough. Now, the medication, according to my doctor and pharmacist lenghty explanation is suppose to put you to sleep and considering the fact I haven't really slept well in the past three days due to this cough I was eagerly awaiting the drug's effect.

As you can see I am still waiting.

I am also completely bored out of my mind.

I mean it has been three hours, I should be asleep by now not wide awake and ready to party.

Sigh.

Even my mom said the drug was going to make me sleepy as did the paper/warning/instruction thingie that came with the medication, oh, and so did the website because you know being a geek I just had to google the drug.

I mentioned I was bored, right?

Oh, as for the cough...still here, but I must admit it has improve somewhat.
